The song is good,not amazing but it’s well executed. For me has too much of the ethio-jazz sound. Don’t get me wrong, I love ethio-jazz, I grew up in Addis in the 80s and 90s when the throw back to 70s and 60s music was big. I felt that in this case, as with several other song,s the application is of music by numbers.
This aside Ester does have a good voice and the song writing is good if a bit naive, which I so love in songs; one of my favourite lyric is “I don’t want to know about evil//all I want to know about love” by John Martyn (how ironic that so many male musicians write lovely words and yet destroy their wives and lovers)
Rada does compose a mean song though as shown on her EP, Life Happens; I especially enjoyed ‘Anything From You’. There is sound in the chorus that reminds me of the best of a Neptune’s produced track, it’s like a guitar having it’s strings put through a shredded, have listen!
The reason I am posting it is primarily, though not solely,the video. It is SO cool. The styling is so freaking ACE. I want to say very Solange but I don’t want to take away form either Ester or Solange.
